Get ready: Your first look at Chanel’s Spring 2012 polish collection:

the Lèvres Scintillantes collection. Its name: Attraction. The dreamy shade and was created by Chanel’s creative director of makeup, Peter Philips, and was originally rumoured to be an exclusive mix just for the runway. It’s due out next year, so you’d better start plotting your rush to line-up at Chanel counters now.

We received some titillating news yesterday afternoon: the shimmering white-pearl polish seen at Chanel’s Spring 2012 show on Tuesday will be released as a limited edition colour in
But that’s not all the intel we have for the lacquer-obsessed: the other polishes Phillips used are part of a trio collection that will also launch next year. The warm shades—a rosy burgundy, pastel fuchsia, and a seashell-hued orange—are named for the spring months (that’s April, May, and June, respectively), which has us hoping—are polishes for all the other months to come? We’d love to have a whole calendar of Chanel colours on hand.

Afternoon beauty fix / Conceal irritated, red eyes by opposing them on the colour wheel:

I recommend taking a scientific approach to your beauty regime and look to the colour wheel for inspiration. Tints that are completely opposite on the spectrum attract and flatter one another so, if your eyes are super-red, use the complete opposite hue—a cyan blue—as your creative solution. For office-appropriate wear that still looks cool, apply pigment with a wet, fine-tipped brush along your waterline and subtly at the base of your upper lashes. Blue shadow is no longer reminiscent of the ’80s: Jil SanderZac Posen3.1 Phillip Lim, and Chanel all put sea-blue eyes on their runways for Fall 2011, and we especially love Outremer Single Eyeshadow by Nars ($26, narscosmetics.com) for its extreme azure illumination.
